Protocolour lets you prototype distinctive colour palettes and generate style guides in the formats AI agents, web developers, marketing teams and print studios actually use.
Designed for Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Humans.
Marketing is one of the four integrated capabilities at Whitehot alongside AI, Technology and Transformation.
Within our Marketing capability are seven services. Each is designed to solve immediate tactical needs or to form the essential building blocks of a larger, cohesive strategy.
Strategy that clarifies positioning. Creative that works on every screen. Search and social that gets you found by humans and AI agents. Research and analysis that proves what works before you spend. Effective campaigns, regulated communications, and multilingual reach.
Seven focused services. One clear outcome: Marketing that compounds advantage instead of adding cost and complexity.

Protocolour is released as an alpha — v0.2 and is still in active testing. It is made available for prototyping and evaluation purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole source of truth for production brand work.
How the matching works. Protocolour is CMYK-native and perceptually uniform end-to-end. Hue relationships between roles (analogous secondary, complementary accent) are computed in OKLCH (CSS Color Module Level 4) so the perceptual angle is preserved, not the sRGB triplet. Derivative role lightness is targeted in OKLCH L space, then solved back to the CMYK K that achieves it on each chosen hue, so the secondary and accent feel evenly stepped from the primary across the full lightness range rather than CMYK-K stepped (which compresses near the extremes).
Accessibility and contrast. Contrast targeting uses APCA, the Accessible Perceptual Contrast Algorithm and the WCAG 3 draft. Body-text minimums are Lc 75; large-text minimums are Lc 60; AAA-equivalent is Lc 90. Magnitude of Lc indicates perceptual contrast strength regardless of polarity (white-on-dark or dark-on-light). APCA is more accurate than WCAG 2.x sRGB ratios but is not yet a stable W3C recommendation. For legacy WCAG 2.x compliance, validate independently against sRGB luminance ratios in your final medium.
Colour-vision-deficiency safety. Pair distances for protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia are computed as OKLab ΔE (perceptually uniform) on post-simulation hexes. The 0.05 threshold corresponds to "clearly perceptually different".
Print and CMYK. CMYK output is a specification, not a colour-managed proof. Printed output will vary by substrate, ink and press. Validate in the final medium before production.
